Better Gas Mileage

Sensible driving can save up to 33% on the highway, 5% in town
Speed and fuel consumption, mileage usually decreases rapidly at speeds above 60 mph. You can estimate for every 5 mph over 60mph you will burn an additional 25 cents per gallon of gas.
Cold outside? Letting your car warm-up or excessive idling burns your gas, and gets you nowhere. Try plugging in instead.
Keeping your speed constant. If you have cruise control, use it as it will help you save on gas.
Ever wonder about the overdrive and when you should use it? Using overdrive reduces engine wear and saves on gas too.
Loose the weight. Toting around extra items in your car costs you. For every additional 100 pounds in your vehicle you can see a reduction of up to 2% of a car's mpg.
Is your car sick? Getting a tune-up can improve gas mileage up to 4% on vehicles that are noticeably out of tune.
Get your car some fresh air. Replacing a clogged air filter can improve your automobile?s gas mileage by as much as 10%!
Is your car looking a little flat lately? Under-inflated tires can decrease mpg by .4% per PSI drop in pressure.
Look under the hood. When it is time to change the oil, make sure you're using the manufacturer's suggested grade to get another 1-2% improvement in your mpg.
When given the choice, carry items inside the car and not on a roof rack or carrier to save an additional 5%.
